Nayab Jade
My name is Nayab Hashimi, a first-generation Afghan-American navigating the pursuit of the "American Dream." Six years ago, I founded Nayab Jade to explore diverse cultures, highlight artisans, and address global issues. Advocating for human rights and children's education, I've collaborated with talented Afghan refugee women, incorporating fabrics from around the world into timeless pieces while giving back to the community.
For the past two years, I've actively engaged in the Afghan refugee crisis, serving as an education coordinator for refugee children while raising awareness, collecting donations, and collaborating with organizations to provide 4,000+ art therapy kits and essential items. Now resettled, my focus is on creating a supportive safe space for them to express themselves creatively.
I aim to use my platform for art advocacy and use my photography to continue spreading awareness and making a positive impact. Below, you'll find resources and ways to contribute to making the world a better place as well as some of my work.
